Chandrakhani Pass trek opens for four months in a year i.e June – September. During winters, it remains covered with heavy snow.
This trek got famous in the last few years and trekker gets amazed while covering two valleys which is Kullu & Parvati. Chandrakhani Pass trek ends in mystical village of Parvati valley called Malana. It is a World’s famous village mainly for its cream. Malana is also known for holding the oldest democracy of the world.
Tungnath – Chandrashila
Trek starts from famous Chopta village which is located in Kedarnath Sanctuary of Uttarakhand.
This is an easy level of trek and distance to reach Tungnath temple is 5 kms. With 1.5 kms of steep hike from the temple, there is a famous Chandrashila Summit. You can witness highest peaks of Himalayas from this summit like Nanda Devi, Kumaon Region & Trishul Peak.
If you are first timer in trekking then Tungnath _ Chandrashila is the best route to attempt. There is no stay arrangement in this route so if you are planning a night stay at Tungnath, then you can carry your tents along. There is a plenty of tent pitching locations around the temple.
