Bhrigu is an oval shaped lake located at 14,100 feet above sea level in the Himalayas. Bhrigu Lake Trek is famous for astonishing views of Himalayas ranges like Pir Panjal & Dhauladhar. It is said that a saint named Bhrigu ( sapatrishi) came to this place to meditate, so the lake got its name from this Saptarishi.

Base location of Trek
Trek starts from Gulaba village located in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. Manali is the famous town near which is the base location, tourists spend their first night in Manali for acclimatization of body.
For reaching Manali, you can take an overnight bus journey from Delhi or Chandigarh. From Delhi, it is a 12 to 14 hours of journey and from Chandigarh, it is a 8 hours of journey. Most of the Volvo buses comes with recliner seats so you can comfortable spend these hours while sleeping in the buses.
Once, you reach Manali you can spend first day exploring best places like Old Manali cafes, Hadimba Devi Temple, Mall road etc.
Itinerary of Bhrigu Lake Trek:
Day 1: Manali – Gulaba – Rola Kuli Campsite (6 kms)
After spend a night in Manali, body gets acclimatize for higher altitude trek. Early morning, Take a taxi from your hotel for dropping you at Gulaba Village (base location of trek). It will take 1 hour approx to reach Gulaba by taxi.
Our first camping stay is at Rola Kuli which is about 6 kms of trek from Gulaba. Mobile network fades away as you cross Gulaba village. First few kms is going to be bit steep and it will welcome you between stunning meadows. You can witness the astounding mountain ranges from here.
Enjoy your camp stay at Rola Kuli.
Day 2: Rola Kuli – Bhrigu Lake – Rola Kuli Camp (10 kms)
After early breakfast, start your trek for Bhrigu Lake. During the month of June, you must be having a trekking shoes suitable for snow. Most of the trek gets covered with snow during this month. After monsoon, trail gets clear and nrmal trekking shoes can work.
The best thing about Bhrisgu Lake Trek is that it offers different shades in every month June – September. Also, the color of the lake changes from blue to green.
Return to Rola Kuli campsite in the evening. Enjoy bonfire and serene atmosphere.
Day 3: Rola Khuli – Gulaba Village – Manali (6 kms)
After breakfast, trek down for Gulana village. It will take 3-4 hours to reach back, take a taxi and return to Manali in the evening.
If you wish, you can spend a night in Manali Hotel or take a return bus for Delhi/ Chandigarh.
So, trek ends with beautiful memories to cherish with family & friends.
